Description

"I’d like to take you on a little trip. Picture in your mind's eye…you going home after a long day's work. The only thing on your mind (perhaps) is what she cooked for dinner- she always makes such a mystery of it and your expectation is always pleasantly rewarded. As you near the neighborhood, a myriad of titillating aromas assail your nostrils…but you easily isolate that which is coming from your kitchen..."

Every month, 4 friends with wild imaginations and a knack for sipping wine while cooking get together to share stories and dreams over a pot of food that is usually savory, but ALWAYS spicy and ALWAYS delicious. These original recipes are personalized by the “chef” for the night especially for the purpose of seeing who can be made to his most from the heat. Needless to say, it is a sin to cook without pepper in our kitchen. Our recipes reflect our West African hometowns which span from the coastal country Liberia inward to Nigeria and back to the Gold Coast (Ghana). These recipes that have survived slavery, civil wars and other events commonly referred to as the “African Diaspora” somehow bring together the most unlikely juxtaposition of characters, magically making believers out of doubters, friends out of distant onlookers with full bellies, warm hearts and an empty pot when all is said and done. The end of the story is always at the bottom of the pot.
